• NEPTA general election is planned on the second day of the NEPTACON. To be eligible to vote, there must be the valid NEPTA membership . Therefore, its important to have new  membership for those who have never registered and renewal is must for the memberships that are outdated. These will be the legal preconditions to be eligible for the NEPTA voting.

    Note that new memberships or renewal of membership can be only made till 18th Nov 2016 which is a day before general election. There wont be the membership/renewal  provisions on 19th Nov which is a day of general election

    A physical therapist from Nepal will be among the main speakers at the profession’s largest and most important international gathering, the WCPT Congress 2017, to be held next year in Cape Town on 2nd – 4th July

    Announcement is already in place for the World Confederation for Physical Therapist (WCPT) Conference-2017, Capetown . Physiotherapy in disasters is one of the focused symposium which is also going to be represented from Nepal.

    Mr. Sunil Pokhrel (General secretary of Nepal Physiotherapy Association and Sr. Injury rehabilitation officer of Handicap International) will be contributing to focused symposia featuring prominent international speakers from across WCPT’s five regions.     Nepal Physiotherapy Association (NEPTA) is a national organization of Nepalese physiotherapists or physical therapist. NEPTA is an active member of the World Confederation of physical therapy (WCPT), where 106 countries member organization are present and actively engaged in promotion of physical therapy. Nepal physiotherapy association is recognized by the government of Nepal and registered as national umbrella organization of professional physical therapists alike to the Nepal Medical Association (medical doctors’ association), Nepal Bar Association (lawyers’ association), and other professional organization under National Direction Act 2018 BS.

    As per the constitution, NEPTA   conducts a conference and selection of new executive committee once in a two year. This time, NEPTA is going to conduct its 8th conference from 18th to 19th November 2016, name of this conference here after is termed as NEPTACON(Nepal Physiotherapy Association Conference)

    NEPTACON  aims to create the platform for national and international experts in rehabilitation,  physiotherapists , other rehabilitation , medical professionals , public health professionals to learn, share and create the network among the professionals. On top of all, NEPTACON also aims to connect the participating delegates with the national actors and government authorities related to health related rehabilitation.

    NEPTA kindly request  and encourage physiotherapy experts, physiotherapists, students, medical and rehabilitation professionals to participate in NEPTACON and contribute the promotion of rehabilitation sector of Nepal.

    Support from the National and International humanitarian agencies to NEPTA and Nepalese government to promote the physiotherapy profession is well acknowledged by NEPTA executive board.     Ripple effect

    8th  September is the world physiotherapy day.  It’s an opportunity for physiotherapist all around world to raise awareness about the profession and build up the solidarity.

    Each year, under the general theme of Movement for Health, WCPT introduces a new campaign message. This year, the campaign message and theme of materials from WCPT is, “Fulfilling potential”.

    Under the WCPT umbrella theme, Nepal physiotherapy association plans for developing the country specific theme for the world physiotherapy day 2015.

    Let us design the simple and meaningful theme so that a ripple effect of awareness regarding the profession can be generated in mass.

    We encourage Nepalese physiotherapist to participate on developing the meaningful theme.  The best one will be selected by NEPTA executive committee. The selected candidate profile will be also shared in NEPTA Facebook page later on and will be felicitated in coming NEPTACON.

    Prosthetic Orthotic society (POS) Nepal   invited NEPTA as a guest on the program,” Interaction on Initiation of Ethical Practice for Prosthetic & Orthotic services”.  NEPTA president (Nischal Ratna Shakya) and advisor (Saurab Sharma) participated on the program and shared good practices; lesson learns, challenges and importance related to the code of ethics for physiotherapist in Nepal. POS Nepal will be developing the code of ethics for Prothetist & Orthotist working in Nepal very soon.

    Dr. Basudev Pandey, who is a director of Leprosy control division and also the newly formed disability unit of ministry of health and population was the chief guest. Likewise, there was the participation from Nepal health professional council and association of occupational therapist Nepal (ANOT) and the country director of Handicap International Nepal. The forum served the good platform to discuss about the regulations of the rehabilitation professional like P&Os, PT and OTs.

    NEPTA extends its thankfulness to POS Nepal for an invitation on this program which also helped to promote the rehabilitation as an interdisciplinary approach of care . Last but not the least, we  congratulate the newly elected president of POS Nepal (Mr. Amit Ratna Bajracharya ) and wish him a success tenure .  NEPTA aspires to collaborate and advocate together with the like-minded professional associations for the strengthening and regulation  of  physical rehabilitation sector of Nepal.

    NEPTA is now an association partner of Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro), which is a great news for NEPTA and physiotherapy in Nepal. Please click here to see NEPTA’s name on the list of PEDro Partners. PEDro has been contributing to the physiotherapy knowledge dissemination for years. NEPTA will be very glad to get to contribute to PEDro.

    NEPTA also encourages its members to make use of PEDro for physiotherapy evidence based knowledge as it indexes over 30,000 trials, reviews and clinical practice guidelines.

    • NRs= Nepali currency (Rupees)
    • Early Bird Registration: upto 1st August, 2014
    • Late registration: August 2ndNovember 15th, 2014
    • Applicants who register after November 16th will need to pay the spot registration charges which will be NRs. 500 more than late registration charges.
    • Students with Nepali Citizenship studying abroad will be charged as National students and all the students need to submit a proof as a student from the HOD/ Dean or College ID card.
    • Please note that the dollar rate will depend on the day of application for registration.
    • Indian currency Rs. 10 is worth Nepali Rupee 16.
